Senior Program Coordinator and Research Associate of the new Center for the Study of Emergent Threats in the 21st Century et21.rutgers.edu (ET21) at the Division of Global Affairs dga.rutgers.edu, Rutgers University. His research focus is on the technogeopolitics of global cybersecurity cooperation, the militarization of cyberspace, and other areas of cyberspace policy. He has worked on cybersecurity issues at the United Nations, including an appointment in 2008 as a delegate-expert by the Greek Ministry of Foreign Affairs for the International Telecommunications Union’s, Global Cybersecurity Agenda’s High Level Experts Group. He also served as an Adviser in 2006-2007 for the Permanent Mission of Greece’s United Nations Security Council desk on issues pertaining to non-proliferation, the Middle East, Al-Qaeda and Internet misuse. Pano received his Ph.D. (2009) and M.S. (2007) in Global Affairs from Rutgers University, and his ALB in Philosophy from Harvard University, cum laude, in 2005.
