Samara Firebaugh is an Associate Professor in the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department at the United States Naval Academy. Professor Firebaugh received the B.S.E. degree in electrical engineering from Princeton University in 1995, and the M.S. and Ph. D. degrees in electrical engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1997 and 2001, respectively.

She has conducted research in several areas of Microelectromechanical Systems (MEMS) including microscale chemical reactor systems, microwave switches, variable thermal radiators and microscale robotics. She also conducts pedagogical research related to undergraduate microsystems education.
